Why This House Exists
Bella Flor didn't begin with a business plan.
It began with a simple question.
Could we build the kind of place we would always hope to find while travelling?

A place close to nature.
A place where mornings start slowly.
A place where you can be on your own, or stay for a conversation.
And where there is always someone around when you need a hand.
A place that feels like home.

We left Medellín and followed something difficult to explain.
We fell in love with Palomino.
The mountains.
The river.
The Caribbean.
The people.
Bella Flor slowly grew around all of it.
Bella Flor is still a family house.
The people preparing breakfast may also be tending the garden, greeting you at reception or walking the dogs in the morning.
We never tried to build a hotel.
We simply kept sharing our home.

We never set out to create a sustainable hostel.
We simply learned that when you truly care for a place, certain choices become obvious.
Breakfast becomes compost.
Rain becomes water for the garden.
Reusable becomes better than disposable.
Animals become part of the family.
Small everyday choices quietly become a way of life.
We don't believe people remember buildings.
They remember how a place made them feel.
That's why Bella Flor exists.
